Create Your First Site

Add a website to Sonar and get its tracking code.

A site in Sonar is one website you want to measure. Each site has its own site key, its own data and its own settings.

Steps

  1. From the dashboard, click Create Your First Site. If you already have sites, open the site picker in the top-left and choose + Add site.
  2. Enter a Site name. This is just a label for you, for example Marketing site or My Blog.
  3. Enter the Domain, for example https://example.com.
  4. Click Create site.

You'll go back to the dashboard, where you'll see installation instructions for your new site, with your site key already filled in.

Choosing the domain

  • Use the root domain your visitors see: example.com, not example.com/blog.
  • One site covers both www.example.com and example.com.
  • Track staging environments as a separate site, so test traffic doesn't mix with real visitors.
